FAQ

How will you figure out my aesthetic? How will you make the space unique to me?

Design is personal—and we really get to know you. Once you’re ready to move forward with the project, we’ll take you through an informative, custom interview process. We’ll work together to fill out a document with all of your likes, dislikes, what you do for fun, favorite restaurants, etc. We know from experience that asking the right questions allows us to achieve a truly personal space—tailored to the way you live and enjoy life.

Will you show me options that go beyond what I show you for inspiration?

Your inspiration is what will drive our inspiration and creativity. It serves as a jumping-off point. You will see lots of concepts from us as we continue to fine-tune all the way to the last detail.

Why are you always talking about a home feeling “collected”?
Collected is not a style or another way of saying “eclectic”. It can feel modern, traditional, transitional, or something else entirely. Collected is when you walk into a home and you can truly see the self of the person that lives there. Through your home, you can see your experiences and life story.

How do you work? What’s the process?

We are a full-service interior design firm, which means we take care of the entire design process. Essentially, you don’t have to lift a finger or worry about any details. Our clients come into a completed home ready to enjoy from the moment they arrive. We provide design, procurement and expediting services, and project management.

After we get to know everything about you, we begin our design process. Our process consists of the following phases: conceptual design, detailed design, purchasing and execution, and finally, installation. Each phase flows into the next from a bird’s eye view during conceptual to final fine-tuning during the detailed design phase.

Once all designs and estimates are approved, we purchase and expedite every item that will go into the space. During that phase, we also take care of the project management—overseeing all trades and ensuring everything is on time and ready for installation.

Then we bring it all in for the final reveal. You’ll walk into a designed and organized home ready to enjoy… all the way to the last detail. And when we say “the last detail”, we mean it. Even your clothes are neatly folded in every drawer.

How do furnishing purchases work?

We are your one-stop-shop for all things design—offering a wide array of furniture from hundreds of vendors. Through Juliette Calaf Interiors, you will gain access to quality furniture backed by reputable vendors.

Should we do everything at once? How will we know what to prioritize?

Whole home and whole floor projects have huge advantages, as the project will flow more efficiently in time and budget. But, when we need to break it up, we run the areas that need to be done first as one project and the other areas as a separate project—each with their own separate timelines.

How often do you communicate with me throughout the project?

You will get a project update every first week of the month and another mid month where we will keep you up to date with where we are in the design process as well as the status of orders once procurement begins.

What if something goes wrong?

It’s our job to make this process effortless. We take care of everything. We deal with the problem, sort it out and only come to you once we have the solutions. As all of our clients will tell you—we are problem solvers.

Does Juliette Calaf Interiors have a minimum project size?

We primarily design entire homes, but our project minimum is three rooms.

How can we keep the project smooth on our end?

We know that clients who are responsive and decisive will keep the project moving. If you love it, we want to know. If you hate it, we want to know! Keep us fully and quickly informed…and we will do great work for you.
